Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate, manage, teach, develop, coach, facilitate and motivate TEAM participative skills to attain maintenance & reliability goals, the quality statement, spending, safety & housekeeping, training, technology and the behavioral qualities of the individual.

The incumbent must possess strong leadership skills, multi-tasking skills, along with excellent employee relations and communication skills.

Key Accountabilities
•    Maintain and promote an environment of “No Accident/No Incident” approach and focus where safety is the overriding priority
•    Plan and schedule maintenance functions in order to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve throughput utilizing lean manufacturing principles
•    Develop maintenance strategies and innovations based on operating assessment of the mills and equipment downtime
•    Provide clear direction and leadership in a manufacturing maintenance environment
•    Respond to mill and plant equipment breakdowns and coordinate the efforts of all maintenance technicians to ensure the timely completion of needed corrective work
•    Proactively respond, prioritize, and manage various issues in a timely manner
•    Train, develop, and evaluate maintenance technicians
•    Coach and counsel employees as necessary  
•    Assess employee discipline when required
•    Develop, maintain, and present maintenance reports as required by senior management
•    Implement and enforce Company policies and procedures
•    Manage and control the maintenance employee time sheets and attendance records
•    Implement and maintain 5S principles to ensure good environmental & housekeeping standards and behaviors
•    Enforce a high standard of expected workmanship in all endeavors at all times

Roles and Responsibilities
•    Drives development, auditing and conformance to Plant EHS objectives. 
•    Provides leadership and technical support 
•    Manages shift pattern, scheduling vacations, dealing with reported absences for subordinates
•    Manages employees’ use of break times, scheduled work time, vacations, and overtime 
•    Monitors, audit, and approve employees’ time worked reports in a timely manner for completion of on time payroll processing
•    Coordinates out of hours on occasions through Outages and Unplanned downtime
•    Participates in HR processes in hiring, management and reporting of support functions
•    Ensures the necessary training of skills 
•    Monitors technical and/or computer-assisted processes utilized within the plant
•    Ensures that the appropriate permits are in place for work being performed, and that they are reviewed and closed appropriately
•    Directs and implements equipment improvement plans
•    Accomplishes specific tasks as required by the Manager
•    Must prioritize and manage personal and Plant accountabilities while delegating decisions that affect day-to-day business to the lowest level 
•    Develops personal expertise and experience on processes and equipment
•    A very high degree of personal and/or procedural control is used to ensure that the team and the unit are in support of the organization’s EHS and business philosophy. 
•    Ensures that shift reports are completed on all shifts, and sends out a shift narrative daily

Leadership Competencies, Technical Skills Requirement
Technical Skills and Experience:
•    2 or 4 year degree in business administration/management or maintenance OR
•    7 Years’ comparable industrial maintenance supervisory experience with proven track record
•    Must be willing to work a rotating work schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
•    Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal or written formats
•    Strong time management skills 
•    Strong presentation skills
•    Effective problem-solving skills (8D methodology is a plus)
•    Knowledge of maintenance work management processes: planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, predictive and corrective work
•    Knowledge of basic maintenance processes (e.g. welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, motors, pumps, instrumentation and controls). 
•    Microsoft Project, Excel, Word proficiency required – HIGHLY SKILLED
•    Experience with SAP is a plus
•    Computerized Maintenance Management Systems Experience required
•    Exceptional team working skills
