Primary Purpose

The Technical Expeditor will support on time delivery of parts needed to keep the plant reliable in its operation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supports open communications between departments
  • Supports inventory of Spares, Rebuilds, Critical Spares, and Special Purchase items to ensure parts needs are being met
  • Supports Current Spare Issues, requisitions, purchase orders, and delivery dates
  • Ensures APU team members properly complete paperwork relative to non-conformance
  • Provides quality control for rebuild and spare documentation; and reports incomplete issues to the proper leadership for accountability
  • Tracks and drives delivery of rebuilt parts and assemblies to kitting locations
  • Completing factory acceptance tests (FATs) and supporting site acceptance tests (SATs)
  • Continuous Improvement of the rebuild process chain

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs quality checks on parts ready to return from vendors to ensure accuracy of repairs made to parts returning to the site
  • Maintains an Action Register of expedited items with daily updates of current status for each outstanding item; provides a status report
  • Supports the Rebuilds Review process (Parts Reviewed Prior to Shelving and Storage)
  • Track parts out for repair whether internal or external
  • Prioritizes and drives completion based on needs
  • Leads communication meetings for current spares, concerns, and readiness
  • Supports list of shelf spares in proper locations and that they are ready for service
  • Attend APU reliability strategy meetings to support programs as needed
  • Participates in the development of quality job plans by working with planners as needed
  • Develops and supports quality check sheets and standard maintenance practices SMPs for rebuilds
  • Monitors outsourced supply contracted arrangements, i.e., motors, valves, etc.
  • Audits spares condition on a regular basis and documents the audit process  
  • Develops and trains APU team members in the process of expediting parts
  • Trains/Mentors/Coaches as needed
  • Benchmark and best practice in all areas and develop standards

 

Leadership Competencies, Technical Skills Requirement

    Technical Skills and Experience:

  • 2 or 4-year technical degree and 5 years of technical parts experience in a heavy industrial setting
  • 10 years comparable industrial technical machinery experience with proven track record
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and ability to travel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal or written formats
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes and quality checks
  • Knowledge of maintenance work management processes: planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, predictive and corrective work
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance materials management processes 
  • Microsoft Project, Excel, Word proficiency required – HIGHLY SKILLED
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems Experience required
  • Exceptional team working skills
